The Grub: Cilantro

I have always loved Asian inspired/ Asian fusion foods.  I love the flavors, I love that I can get shrimp with almost anything, and I love that it is ALWAYS still good leftover (the cooked variety of course).  My darling roommate sophomore year, Angela, and I love it so much that Kim-Chi and rice was a common afternoon snack at our lovely townhouse on Wheeler.

Given that I love Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Sushi, and Korean, I figured my chances of liking Vietnamese were pretty good.  So off to Cilantro I went with my lovely friend Heather.

I got the vermicelli noodles with shrimp and had them add extra veggies.

Something about the combination of the sweet chili and house sauce really hit the spot.  If I could describe exactly the meal I was in the mood for when I walked in the door, it would have been this.  Everything tasted fresh and the combination of lettuce and noodles was different and delicious.  My only complaint about this visit was that my veggie spring roll was not what I was expecting.  The dough was pretty thick, so although the outside came out crispy, the inside had a soggy bread taste.

I will definitely go back to Cilantro, but next time I think I'll skip the spring roll.
