Dishes with Dee and the Haps featuring: Ladies Brunch

You know what someone who is single and in their mid-twenties likes to do?
Drink.
Especially in the early afternoon.
With their girlfriends.

You know what someone who is single and in their mid-twenties doesn't like to do?
Spend 10 bucks on a mimosa.

So where better to drink with your girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon than at your own apartment?
Enter Ladies Brunch.

With everyone getting into serious relationships, focusing on their jobs, having kids and generally growing up, we actually do have to start coming up with the excuses to see each other.
If you don't get on someone's calendar, you better text them and ask them to send you a selfie, 'cause you ain't seeing them for a while.
Side note: That actually happened-- I'm looking at you, Emily and Lora.

So, I took matters into my own hands.

When in doubt, bribe 'em with bacon.

Honestly, hosting this brunch was easier than you would think.
It only took me the morning of to prepare (started at noon, y'all)
And I slept until 9, too.
So 3 hours of work in the kitchen.

The Menu:
Bacon and Gruyere Quiche
Mediterranean Quiche
Vegan Leek and Red Pepper Hashed Browns (I'm not that proud of those, you guys)
Watermelon, Mozzarella, and Cucumber Salad
A smoked salmon and cream cheese board
Prosecco Mimosas

I'm going to link most of the recipes because I didn't make many changes to them, so I'll let the originals tell you what to do.
Feel free to ask if you have questions though!
But, the watermelon salad is all mine, babes.

Here's what ya need:
1/2 a watermelon- cubed
1 cucumber- peeled and sliced
1 cup of small mozzarella balls- halved
1/4 a red onion, thinnly sliced
a hand full of basil, coarsely chopped
Juice of half a lemon
A few tablespoons of olive oil- I didn't measure, sorry peanuts.  But a standard lemon dressing recipe should help you out.
S+P (duh.)

And here's what ya do:
Ummm.. mix the dressing in a bowl.
Put everything else in there.
Toss.

The great thing about this menu is that is was well rounded, but everything was a snap to make.
Quiche is so easy.

I love it.

It was such a great morning.
A good excuse to see some amazing women.
And eat this without feeling bad about it.

Mad props to my sister on gifting me this amazing cheese board.  Isn't it totes fab?

I was obsessed with the Perrier bottle labels.

Prosecco from Oakley Wines, of course!

The full spread, minus one quiche.

Just text your girlfriends, pick a date, and have a brunch.

If you love the idea of having everyone over, but don't want to deal with all the cooking, just go pot luck style.

We made an entire day of this.
An entire drinking day.

Recipes:
Bacon and Gruyere Quiche
Mediterranean Quiche
I have a few friends who don't like mushrooms, so I left those out
Vegan Leek and Red Pepper Hashed Brown Potatoes
